Historical Event

The Natural History Museum. Oh the memories of my days in elementary school when we would go on field trips to see all the dinosaurs and what not. Too be honest with you, all I really remember was that I got to get out of school for the day and head out on the bus. Hopefully the memories my kids have will be a little more, well, memorable! At the very least we had a great time on this little family outing. Here are a few shots from our day long excursion. I made sure the batteries in the flash were fully charged and ready to go and then proceeded to leave without it (doh!). So I had to trust the high iso capability of my camera and the light gathering abilities of a 1.4 aperture and see if i could get any clean shots. The majority of the shots were taken at iso 3200 and a few at 6400. The low light ability of the 5D MkII never ceases to amaze me. Take a look if feel so inclined and feel free to leave a comment, good or bad.

We headed out to the rose garden in Exposition Park after we finished the museum. Unfortunately, most if the roses were on there way out for the summer. We still managed to find a few that were hanging in there.

The Best Camera

It has been said before but I will say again, the best camera you have is the one you have with you! This was taken from my back yard with my phone (Nexus One). It is a 4 exposure HDR.

Happy Campers

We were expecting the worst when we took the kids on there first real camping trip but it turned out to be a piece of cake. After all, what kid doesn't like playin' in the dirt and swimming in a lake? We kept it local and headed up to a camp ground in Lake Arrowhead, spent a day swimming in lake Gregory, and relaxed at night around the campfire with friends. Here are a few pics from our first but defiantly not the last camping trip.

A Shot In The Park

When given the opportunity to photograph three photogenic young ladies you dont pass it up, especially when it takes you to such exotic locations as the local park. I am always looking to learn and improve my photography whenever I get the chance so it was my pleasure to do a Fathers Day shoot for the Rodgers girls. Here are a few shots from that shoot. Thanks Tammy for the opportunity.

Reserved

Just a quick shot from the Hemet reservoir. We headed out to on a little road trip on the 4th of July and this is where we ended up. The sun was high and harsh which doesnt make for good pictures but I figured I would have some fun with the processing and see what I could come up with. Enjoy!
